Life in Wasilla Alaska

Mmmmm blueberries…

I just can’t get enough of Hatcher Pass. Sean and I went to the end of Archangel Road. It was overcast, and getting dark, so we didn’t hang long.  But I did grab a couple handfulls of berries.  I’m not a huge berry fan… but there’s something cool about picking a handful and popping them in your mouth.  I try not to think about who or what might have previously trampled them. :-) And I’m still living today, so go figure.  It’s absolutely gorgeous up there this time of year though.  The colors are really coming in, thanks to our exceptionally wet and cool summer.  And the birds are high tailing it south.  Another short summer over, and a long winter facing in.  I heard that natural gas prices are going up 22% this winter.  So I’m thinking of alternatives, and will have my gas heater set on around 50, just enough to keep me from totally freezing.  I’m also sealing up most of the big windows this year, and getting weather stripping around the door.  I know a lot of needless heat escapes through there.

Yay. :)
