Had to blog about it - Beef Recall

In case you haven’t heard, the largest beef recall in history came a few days ago.

Those that know me, know I haven’t eaten meat, going on three years. This time the Humane Society did the investigation, and gained the attention needed to get this into the mainstream media. Here is a link to the Humane Society short video.

PETA has been doing these types of investigations for years. And although I certainly don’t agree with all their tactics. They’ve probably got more undercover video of what is really going on than anyone. And I encourage you all to visit these sites, watch Meet Your Meat.

That’s a great starting point, and then really educate yourself about what these animals go through, so you can have a double double with cheese.

Not only is their treatment cruel, their deaths are cruel, their meat is tainted, pumped with growth hormones, antibiotics, and god knows what else, all for YOU the consumer, which creates the demand.

I’m not perfect, and although I haven’t eaten meat in three years, I still enjoy seafood. And although I would love to say I’m Vegan, I know there are animal products in some of the things I eat, and some of the things I don’t mean to eat, but do as hidden ingredients.

It’s not just a health issue, it’s a public safety issue. We’re eating sick meat, which is in turn, making us sick.

** Post Script ** Not only are the animals inhumanly treated from birth, ill and turned into sick meat…. now they are cloning animals, and many strains of beef are genetically modified.  Like a lot of our vegetables and fruits too. **

I would mouth open. You live in one of the most beautiful places on the planet. And you is so generous that still photograph all this to poor mortals like myself may have knowledge about it. I am also photographer but my photos are more about places like ugly slums and poverty … Because it is what else is in my country, Brazil … Currently live in Florida … Lived a while in California and thought it beautiful, but now seeing your blog with your photos, I believe that I will have to revise my concepts. Bjs and see ya

It’s really scary when you start to realize how the animals are treated, and even on a smaller scale, to realize what is in all the food we ingest all the time. I started doing some reading on the subject about two years ago and have been a vegetarian since (ovo-lacto). Going totally vegan would be a larger jump for me, but I feel really good about my choices so far, and healthier in general.

    Awesome post!
